Resort season is well under way, which runs from May through the summer. Chanel, the only major European resort show has wrapped up May 14, followed by a list of familiar names like Yves Saint Lauren, Christian Dior, Prada, Oscar de la Renta and those we still could not find out yet right now. Featured as cruise, resort show avoids hard-edged style and tends to be easy pack, less seasonal, and comfy, which means you will be disappointed with an intention to look for huge surprise here especially facing such economic circumstance. But I;m still delighted to review resort as it always reminds me of vacation, and leisure life style I'm thirsty for..

Yves Saint Laurent's Stefano Pilati seeks inspiration from the seaside, though we have no beachy feel at first glance of the resort collection. Different from his SS 09 season obsessed with black, white, and shades of gray, orange, green, purple, yellow show up in silky glitter.

Resort Show 2010 - Celine
Celine tells a story about sharp lines and nude instead of anything else in the resort collection. Nude - the hottest as well as sexiest color this season, combines with sharp lines - might be the last one to be used in big proportion on womenswear design as you know feminine is famous for the curves instead of sharp line, to develop a cool but strong sexy style.

Resort Show 2010 -  Balenciaga
I had though Nicolas Ghesquiere, the designer, means to make his girl a modern city girl, as small jackets, slim pants cutting close to the body are so urban elements, but the garden floral peeping out from the neck, the waist, not to say to the total floral lamp-shade little dress, which obviously give a clue of garden girl. Ghesquiere is such a genius. I just can't stop loving his resort, totally.

Opened on May 13 and curtained down on May 24, 62nd Cannes Film Festival presented 12 big days full of gorgeous dresses and A-list stars, shown in premieres and parties. Premieres like Up, Inglorious Bastards, Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky, parties host by Dsquared2 and Dolce & Gabbana, benefit event like amfAR Cinema Against AIDS, A-lists covering big names in fashion, movie, music and model industries like Carine Roitfeld, Editor-in-Chief of Vogue France, Donatella Versace, Diane Kruger, Lily Cole, Claudia Schiffer, Penelope Cruz, Sophie Marceau, Shu Qi and Zhang Ziyi......
Oh the lists are too long to be totally covered here, you have to find them on the series stories happened each day from 13 to 24 May.

Day 1 Fashion from 2009 Cannes Film Festival - "Up" Premiere Red Carpet Looks

Last day fashion focus on Coco Chanel. Put your eyes on Anna Mouglalis and Zhang Ziyi, both are stunning.
